What is MyCareCompass?
MyCareCompass is a service from LifeLabs that is free, safe, and gives you more than just results. MyCareCompass is the new name for our services that used to be called “my ehealth” and “my results.” These services are meant to help you find your way around your health.
A reference range is a set of numbers that are often used to show lab results. “Normal values” is another name for a reference range. You might see something like this in your search results: “normal: 77-99mg/dL” (milligrams per deciliter). The normal test results of a large group of healthy people are used to make reference ranges.
Having trouble making sense of what you see? Soon, you’ll be able to use your portal to find out more about your test and results in a language you understand. As your trusted partner in care, our goal is to give you the tools and information you need to guide your health journey and give you the power to live healthier lives.
If your red blood cells, haemoglobin, or hematocrit levels are off, it could mean that you have anaemia, heart disease, or not enough iron in your body. A low white cell count could be a sign of cancer, an autoimmune disease, or a problem with the bone marrow. A high white cell count could mean you have an infection or are having a bad reaction to a drug.
Depending on the test, it can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few weeks to get the results of a blood test. Most of the time, you have to wait a day or two for most results. A person should talk to their doctor or lab about what to expect from their test results.
